Installation at the Trelew Paleontological Museum

The start-up of the Printer was carried out3D MAKERBOT Z18in the facilities of the Egidio Feruglio Paleontological Museum (MEF), Trelew, Chubut, Argentina. AMS assisted in the training and coaching of technicians and first impressions were made.

This new acquisition was obtained through the MINISTRY OF SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND PRODUCTIVE INNOVATION, NATIONAL COUNCIL OF SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL RESEARCH.

With the help of theMAKERBOT Z18 3D PrinterReproductions of 3D pieces from the museum's digital library will be made. The digital library has 3D files of all their paleontological encounters. Each file was obtained through 3D scanning, and this process is enhanced with 3D modeling to reconstruct details that were lost over time.

The Egidio Feruglio Paleontological Museum (MEF) is a unique scientific activity center of its kind in South America. Designed according to a modern and unconventional conception, the MEF reflects innovative work both in its exhibitions and in its productions and services. Its interpretive tours tell the story of the ways of life that populated Argentine Patagonia through a time journey of millions of years into the past.
