AMS held a seminar on integrating scanning, 3D printing, and measurement

The event took place at the School of Mechanical Engineering of the National University of Rosario. Around 200 students and teachers from the last years of the Engineering Degree participated.

The agenda dealt with the following axes: Extractive and Additive Manufacturing, similarity and differences in their processes. Calculation of times, productivity, auxiliary equipment. 3D scanning concepts, contact and optics reverse engineering, Carl Zeiss technology. Laser Tools, Strip Projection and Photogrammetry. 3D printing, solutions with FDM (Fused Deposition Models) Polijet (Resin Model) description of the process, differences between design technologies / prototyping / final products. Industrial applications: Automotive – Auto parts: Molds and dies – Online control and assistance devices – end-use parts. Inspection and dimensional control. Measurement on the Plant Floor and Metrology Room. Automated control systems.

This activity is included within the framework of the activities that AMS Advanced Machine Systems carries out with educational entities in order to transmit applied high-tech knowledge.

Companies such as Carl Zeiss, Stratasys, Zoller, Haimer and Asimeto permanently train Argentine technicians from the AMS team who then locally transmit the most appropriate technologies for our local needs.
